Located in a refurbished building in ‘Plaza Medinaceli’ in Barcelona, we would like to introduce this exclusive club to you. It just opened its doors in October, but it’s already very popular. ‘Soho House’ was born in London in 1995, it has over 17 clubs all around the world and their mission is to “create a comfortable home for its clients”.
There’s seven of them in England, another seven in USA, one in Istanbul and another one in Berlin. The one in Barcelona has over 52 rooms, 2 restaurants, a gym, a cinema and a “speakeasy” (a place where they used to sell alcoholic beverages illegally in the USA) and two swimming pools −one in the spa and the other on the rooftop.
‘Soho House’ defines itself as a ‘creative club’ that was exported from the UK by Nick Jones 21 years ago. Jones, along with the design directors Vicky and James Waterworth, tried to modernize the typical British gentlemen’s club and give it a ‘creative’ touch.
So, creativity is an essential requirement to get in or become a member of this club. You must be part of the cultural and creative part of the Catalan city. Musicians, designers, photographers, and people who work in the arts and the media, are part of this exclusive group.
Some of the advantages you can enjoy if you are a member are: the spectacular gym with a running club, Pilates classes, Yoga on the beach, private cinema or being able to relax in the rooftop swimming pool with its amazing views of Barcelona.
But if you are not a member you can still get a taste of their spa ‘Cowsher’, with exclusive products from ‘Soho House’. You will be able to enjoy a relaxing manicure and pedicure in their majestic vintage armchairs.
