Barcelona International Community Day 2018
The international community will meet on October 20, from 10 am to 7 pm, at the ‘Marítim Museum’ in a day full of activities, information and networking, the Barcelona International Community Day (Barcelona ICD), which celebrates its 5th edition this year. This is the annual meeting of the international community that lives and works in the Barcelona area, which last year brought together more than 4,500 attendees from 121 nationalities. The aim is to provide information and useful resources to people that recently arrived to Barcelona in three basic fields: personal landing; work and do business; and enjoy the city.
As in every edition, Atipika participates in the Barcelona International Community Day, being one of the main sponsors of the event. Atipika has been present every year with the aim of helping newcomers in the search for a home, as the manager of Atipika, Isabel Osorio, explains, “our specialization and experience allows everything to be easy for any nationality at the time of acquiring a property of rent or sale. We adapt and know the idiosyncrasy of more than 100 nationalities to which we have responded in these almost 20 years of profession “.
In fact, the manager and owner of Atipika, Renzo Riva, will be the speaker of the information capsule << LIVING IN BARCELONA: RENT OR PURCHASE? >>, where he will make a market analysis to know what his current status and forecasts is. The presentation will take place on Saturday at 12:15 in the ‘Besòs Room’. In addition, in stand C4 you can find the Atipika team to solve all your doubts. The entrance is free, but pre-registration is required.
Barcelona, the fourth favorite city to work
According to the updated data of the ‘Statistics Institute of the Generalitat’, in Barcelona there are 284,907 foreigners out of a total population of 1,620,809, which represents 18.5% of the total of Barcelona. The Barcelona International Community Day responds to the great demand of the city, which now is one of the favorite places of the international community to live and work. A proof of this is a survey of more than 350,000 workers in 200 countries by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and The Network (an international network of job portals), where 15% of respondents pointed to Barcelona as the ideal city where to live and work, tying with Berlin, and preceded only by London and New York. This result coincides with the trend of large multinationals that have opted for this city to open their subsidiaries or technology centers in Barcelona, among others, technological companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Oracle, Amazon, Adesso and King, as well as other multinationals such as Asics, Allianz, Lidl, Siemens, Nestlé, Mediamarkt or Zurich.
In addition, FDI Magazine of the Financial Times places Catalonia as the most attractive region of southern Europe for foreign investment in 2018 and 2019. The publication also rewards the strategy of attracting investors developed by Catalonia, placing it number one in the ranking ahead of the regions of North Rhine-Westphalia, Scotland, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna.
We are waiting for you on Saturday the 20th at the Barcelona International Community Day!
