ATIPIKA: 22 years being different, 22 years being unique

On our 22nd anniversary, from Atipika Inmobiliaria, we want to get closer to our clients and to all those people who are looking for a quality real estate service. In this blog we will explain 21 curiosities about us and about evolution of our company throughout the years, from its creation until now. Let''s put ourselves in context; Atipika is a real estate company that was born in 1999, in a very turbulent time due to recent EU creation, the implantation of the Euro and the fear of the new millennium. Back then, life was very different to how we know it today, connection between people was not with click of a button and any kind of process took much more time and effort.   So, if these conditions weren’t optimal, how did we manage to get here? The answer is simple: adaptation. In Atipika we have managed to adapt perfectly to every moment circumstances being faithful to our values and making the difference with other real estate business. Throughout this growth process, circumstances have arisen, for and against, that have made us grow as a company and consolidate us as one of Barcelona’s best real estate agencies. 1.- In the year 2000, Atipika started, with a lot of enthusiasm, its website in an office in the World Trade Center. 2.- In our beginnings, mobile phones were a luxury, so 90% of our communications were by landline or fax. 3.- At that time we sold by word of mouth, trying to transmit truthfulness of the product and using printed images to make it more visually attractive. 4.- Job advertisements were made through ''the classifieds of La Vanguardia'' as, at that time, neither Infojobs nor Linkedin existed. 5.- Little by little we made the transition to email. At the beginning, communication by email was slow and a lot of information was lost along the way as the capacity ran out quickly. 6.- At that time text messages were paid, a part of callings, for message number packages. 7.- Videos were stored on CD, a very slow system that took up a lot of space. 8.- Atipika was one of the first real estate agencies to work with Idealista in 2000, when almost nobody knew about this website. 9.- The portals did not have filtering by areas in Barcelona, only by towns. One of the company''s partners helped these portals to divide up their website town areas in city''s areas. 10.- The digital photo time arrived and little by little the company made the change to digitalization.   11.- Our rental sales manager has been with us for more than 20 years. 12.- Atipika originally started with rentals at a time of scarce supply, price auctions, and a total rejection of foreign clients. 13.- Social networks did not exist yet, so our advertising was based on recommendations from our clients, what we know as word of mouth. 14.- At that time there were no temporary contracts, there was no legal way to regulate them, landlords and tenants reached verbal agreements without a clear figure, it was the so-called ''contract of use other than housing''. 15.- In 22 years we have changed our website more than 10 times, we have changed our logo 4 times and we have changed our office three times due to our growth. 16.-The administration department was created at foreign owners request who had a property in the city of Barcelona and asked us to "take care of their properties". 17.- The sales department arose from the need of some of the rental owners who wanted to sell their flats or from a family member. 19.- Nowadays we have more than 15.000 properties in our database only in Barcelona and three of our own offices. 20.- Atipika has never financed itself to growing and we can say that our growth has been slow but steady. 21.- Atipika currently has 25 real estate professionals on staff, and hundreds of external collaborations. These are just some experiences that our company has encountered over years and that have made us improve and grow as a company. All our achievements are based on our company values and a strong work ethic. Our growth and evolution are focused on getting all the tools to offer you an efficient and transparent service. Because in Atipika we know that "Being different makes us unique".
