Barcelona is the ideal city lo live. Why? Because of its excellent climate, its beaches, its cultural and educational offers, its live atmosphere throughout the year… The list of reasons is long and apt for all ages. If you’re thinking of purchasing a home in Barcelona, la Ciudad Condal, to live, to spend your summer vacations, or for renting, you should be interested in what you’ll read below.   Barcelona, the city between the sea and the mountain Have you got a new job in Barcelona and need a house? Are your children starting their studies in the city? Do you want to invest in a house? You need a flat now, but of course there are various areas and neighborhoods. We’ll describe them below.   The Eixample. An unbeatable neighbourhood, it’s not in vain that we find Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and a multitude of modernist buildings. There are also schools, university facilities, culture, places for leisure activities or sports…all of which makes this area amazing to live with children. The available offer in this zone for completely renovated modernist housings from the beginnings of the 20th century is definitely attractive. However, we must not lose sight of the new constructions in this neighborhood either.   Gracia. This quiet neighbourhood, formerly an independent town town before being absorbed by the city during its nineteenth-century growth, is now home to the much-visited Park Güell. It is a fairly cosmopolitan, cultural and bohemian area. There are schools for all ages, which makes it also an ideal area for couples with children. It has plenty of entertainment venues, shops, etc. Well connected with public transport and close to university centers such as Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. The price per square meter is intermediate in comparison with other neighbourhoods. It’s possible to find single-family flats as well as larger ones.   Les Corts. Exclusive district in Barcelona where you can find brand new apartments and flats, as well as luxury houses. Aside from the Camp Nou, two university campuses are located in the area, making it ideal for students. It’s also a neighbourhood with cultural tradition. It’s true that the price per meter square is higher than the previous two areas, but it may definitely be worth it. Within the area we also find the distinguished neighbourhood of Pedralbes.   Sarrià – Sant Gervasi. Green areas and exclusivity, near the Collserola Park. The Catalan bourgeoisie were settled here in the past. Perhaps the most expensive square meter in Barcelona, but it has its counterpoints. Luxury villas, apartments with community services, swimming pools, a quiet place to enjoy.   Poblenou. If you’re looking to live, or for a second residence near the sea, this is your neighbourhood. A place with services, green areas, culture and schools for all ages, and located next to the beaches such as Mar Bella and Bogatell. It was formerly and industrial area and today it’s one of modern Barcelona’s references. You will be able to find new construction houses of magnificent quality with sea views and even with community pools.   The Born. Framed in the Ciutat Vella district, it’s a fashionable place. This neighbourhood preserves the essence of the authentic Barcelona while also being a place to breathe in modernity and culture (Sant María del Mar church, Picasso Museum, the old El Born Market, etc.). The price per square meter is somewhat more affordable, which is why it can be quite profitable to acquire a property here. It’s possible to find great flats or apartments that have been fully refurbished with high-quality materials. Ideal both for living and for renting.   As Atipika, we hope and believe this information will be useful for you when comparing flats in Barcelona, an excellent city to live, spend the summer, study or invest in a house.
