You probably don’t know the work of the young creatives that we will introduce to you today, but they are an important part of the artistic scene of the city. We have selected the work of three of them, in diverse areas such as food styling, accessories design or art direction, would you like to know a bit more about them?
Arianne’s wonderful shoes
Ariadna Guirado designs shoes that are entirely made in Spain, in La Rioja. The details on each collection are always dealt with carefully and she is passionate about simple, relaxed and minimalist lines, following the style of the 90’s. She has just moved her store from ‘El Born’ to a new open-plan establishment in Poble Nou. She has appeared in Vogue issues and worked with brands such as American Apparel, and she has also collaborated with the designer Ana Kraš. Besides shoes, her catalogue includes now a small collection of bags as well.
The creative responsible for Solange Knowles’ image
Carlota Guerrero is a photographer and art director. In her compositions, she uses colours that seem to be taken directly from nature. With her photographs, she celebrates the shapes, the beauty without artifices of any type, the strength and the energy of the human body. The artist has worked with important brands such as Mango, Nice Things or Max & Co. She also works closely with the singer Solange Knowles and many of the concepts in her promotional photographs or music videos, are hers.
The conceptualization of food
Pepi de Boissieu uses the colours, shapes and taste of food to create artistic compositions adapted to different brands. Before getting to work, she studies thoroughly the quality of the food, its origins, the aesthetic and the infinity of its aesthetic possibilities. As she explains: ‘The actions centred around food can help people to interact with each other, to question their reality and to get in a better mood, marvelling with the unexpected while they drink and eat. It’s something that is part of our daily life.’
